A mug of coffee on a wooden stool against a stone wall

Our rarest finds, a pound at a time.

Every so often we taste a coffee that stops the room. It’s usually from a small lot, too small to send to the whole Club, and usually gone before we could plan a Volume around it. The Reserve is where those coffees go: one at a time, a whole pound of each, opening in November.

Our rarest finds, a pound at a time.

  1. (1).

    Small lots

Coffees we find in quantities too small to send to the whole Club. Usually a few hundred pounds from one producer, sometimes less, and gone by the time we'd planned a Volume around it.

    • One coffee at a time
    • Named producers
    • Gone when it's gone
  2. (2).

    Scored 88 and up

Every Reserve coffee is rated 88 or higher by a licensed Q Grader. That's a higher bar than our Volumes, and most of what we taste doesn't clear it.

    • Licensed Q Grader
    • 88+ on every bag
    • Tasted before we buy
  3. (3).

    A whole pound

One 1 lb bag, whole bean, so there's enough to brew it a few different ways and find the cup you like best before it runs out.

    • 1 lb bag
    • Whole bean
    • Roasted in small batches
  4. (4).

    The story behind it

A coffee card on where it's from, who grew it and how it tastes, told the way a friend would tell it.

    • Where it's grown
    • Who grew it
    • How it tastes

We roast every Reserve coffee in small batches and send it whole bean, with a card on where it’s from and how it tastes. When a lot runs out it’s gone, and the next one goes to the waitlist first.

First in line, every time.
