Ping Zhu

We first saw this image with the phrase “What’s Left” already in our heads, and it clicked immediately. Two doorways frame the scene, turning a space we usually rush through into something worth lingering in.

Later we learned Ping created this during the early Covid days in Brooklyn, watching the city from inside. That context could weigh the image down, but it doesn’t. The mood stays calm. Light still gets in. There’s life just beyond the window.

That restraint feels personal. Spend a little time with Ping’s work and you can sense the person behind it: warm, a little wry, uninterested in dressing things up.

This is a piece about noticing what remains when movement slows, and the in-between becomes a place of its own.

Some songs reveal themselves by subtraction. A sparse duet, a fleeting melody, a track that ends before it explains itself. Each leaves just enough behind to feel complete.

My wife and I love Folk Coffee Club.

Folk does intentionality right. The flow of art, music, stories and of course, coffee, is a thoughtful conversation. It's a great curated experience for any coffee lover.

Folk has been the best upgrade to our morning routine.

The coffee beans are always top quality and it's so fun learning more about their origin. Folk adds a layer of thoughtfulness and detail to our coffee ritual and we anxiously await the next shipment each month.
